Music Discovery Program for Busy Adults
How Busy Adults Can Learn to Play an Instrument …Without Stressing Over Practice Time
You may love the idea of learning an instrument like guitar, piano, banjo, bass, or ukulele. But you may also feel overwhelmed with your life, such that learning an instrument doesn’t really feel feasible.
During an introductory session with a prospective adult student, I asked the man what made him want to learn the guitar. He said this:
“I’ve always loved the guitar, and I’ve always wanted to learn to play it.
“But I’m 53 years old. I’m busy with work, and I have a family.

“How much practice will I need to get in every week to make this worth it?
“Is it too late in my life to learn something like this?”
Adults are very hard on themselves.
They place the bar on themselves unnecessarily high.
If they want to learn an instrument, they envision themselves putting in hours a week of grueling practice.
In the beginning of their particular music journey, they’re committed to do just that.
But a few weeks in, they start to realize how difficult it is to learn something new like a musical instrument.
They also realize that their initial commitment to practice was not feasible with fulltime work and family life.
And if they can’t put in the “required” work—an amount of work that they’ve decided for themselves—then they’re wasting their time and money, and they end up quitting a couple months in.
After they’ve given up, they likely experience the fallout feelings of sadness, unfulfilled dreams, regret for even trying to learn an instrument in the first place, and a lingering longing in the back of their mind to still learn an instrument.
What if I told you that you can still learn an instrument without stressing over practice time between lessons?
This is why I created the Discovery Program for Busy Adults.
The Discovery Program for Busy Adults is a weekly, one-on-one music program designed specifically for busy, working adults who would love to learn piano, guitar, banjo, bass, or ukulele.
This music program focuses on building proper foundational technique, habits and skills from the beginning to make building your repertoire of songs easier and faster, eliminating the need for unnecessary practice expectations.
Here is some of what you can expect from the Discovery Program for Busy Adults:
Build a repertoire of dozens of songs at your own pace
Discover the #1 purpose of good technique for your hands and fingers, and why this is so important
Learn how much practice is actually needed to make progress…the answer might surprise you!.
Find out the most effective and efficient way to practice to maximize your progress
Develop the essential skills [needs a name, like “Discovery Building Blocks” or “Discovery Foundational Skills”] that make learning new songs easier and faster
Here’s what to look forward to when you join the program:
Weekly 30-Minute Coaching Sessions
Students learn all their songs, techniques, skills, and theory concepts in weekly, 30-minute, one-on-one coaching sessions.
Quarterly Progress Reports
Never be left in the dark about how you are progressing. Every few months, you’ll receive a personalized assessment of your progress, showing where you’ve made strides and areas that need a little more focus.
“Remote Support” Bonus
If you ever have questions at home about a song or technique, help is just a text, phone call or email away. We’ll make sure you stay supported during the week so you don’t have to wait until the next coaching session.
Live Concerts
After a few months, you’ll be invited to perform at our twice-a-year Live Concert.
Yes, adults perform in these concerts! This isn’t just for kids and teens. We have an even mix of performers ranging in age from 5 years old to 75 years old.
Monthly Concert Prep
No more being nervous playing in front of a crowd.
If the idea of providing music at a Live Concert scares you, this is the antidote.
Playing your instrument on your own and in weekly coaching sessions is how you will make most of your progress. But performing for an audience is a different experience.
Before you’re ready for these Live Concerts, monthly concert prep performances will teach you how to govern your nerves for the “main event.” Often, these recorded performances are so good that you’ll want to share them with your friends and family!
